About Me

Hi! I’m Aleshia!

Nice to Meet You!

My name is Aleshia Speicher, and I am a mom, a Wife, and a forever learner!

Well I will say that I am passionate about everyone’s mental health and safety. The importance of getting involved and helping in family’s lives that may feel helpless and often stuck in, what I call the family cycle, because nobody offers help to gain insight for any other way. Nobody steps in and says, enough is enough and we deserve a voice. Advocating for victims and survivors. Bringing awareness to a topic that is needed in discussions.

I hold an Associates of Arts in concentration for psychology, Bachelor of Science in Psychology and currently finishing my Master’s degree for Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Trauma with Systemic Therapy. As well as obtaining certifications, furthering my education and knowledge on developmental impacts from trauma and approaches to healing. I am currently a Certified Trauma Professional, CTP.

The educational experience is important in gaining knowledge in areas that need attention in our communities, in families and even survivors. However, the personal experience is also just as important and maybe more important. Providing empathy and understanding of the impacts our mental health has on our entire lives, starting from childhood.

I am driven with passion and understanding in what I do as a mom of four kids, a wife and with myself being a victim of childhood sexual abuse, trauma and later being in a domestic violence relationship.

I have complex childhood trauma. You see it’s not like the regular PTSD you think of. It’s that, and more! It’s programmed into the wiring already that makes up who I am. The trauma that shaped my development in the most critical years of our lives, childhood.

Despite the “odds against me,” I am a mother, a wife, a friend, and love to learn and grow. To heal and live. Not just surviving but living. Loving myself. I am not perfect, but I know what to do now. I know to recognize my own trauma behaviors and how to help those. I am so incredibly passionate in the psychology field. To make a difference in this world we live in.

I became a full-time mom and student in 2012. When I’m not spending time with my wonderful kids and husband, I love researching psychology models, doing peer supporting, and normalizing trauma healing! I am a SURVIVOR of childhood trauma, a Certified Trauma Professional, Danger Assessment tool certified, Advocate and writer.
